On the modeling of a sonic liner subjected to acoustic loads

Abstract
The sound attenuation in a sonic liner consisted of an array of acoustic scatterers embedded into an epoxy matrix and subjected to acoustic loads are studied in this paper. The scatterers are spherical shells made from the auxetic material (with negative Poisson's ratio). The size effect of the auxetic cells upon the formation of a full band-gap is investigated and controlled by geometric transformations.
