Abstract

In Reliability Analysis the main focus is on stochastic processes and in particular on semi-Markov processes since they allow for general lifetime distributions. In this work, we aim our attention at modified distributions, especially on Modified Weibull Poisson, for which we explore their properties, provide regions for which they can be approximated by simpler distributions that are closed under minima and establish expressions for parameter estimation. Simulation results show the performance of the proposed estimators.
