Solitary wave solutions to shallow water waves arising in fluid dynamics

Abstract

In this paper, we apply two solitary wave ansatze in terms of sech^p(v) and tanh^p(v), to obtain kink and periodic solutionsof some important nonlinear wave equations such as the general equalwidth wave equation (GEWE), general regularized long wave equation(GRLW) and the general improved Korteweg-de Vries equation (GIKdV). By means of these methods, we have the advantage of reducing thenonlinear problem to a system of algebraic equations, that can besolved by any computerized packages.
