Modeling the impact of rumor spreading in SEIR framework
Abstract
This study focuses on the analysis of a mathematical model that addresses the SEIR rumor-spreading model. This study evaluated the impact of disseminating rumors by assessing the virality rate of a chosen topic using the Susceptible-Exposed-Infected-Recovered (SEIR) model. The analytical solution of the model, incorporating rumors, is pursued using the New Homotopy Perturbation Method (NHPM), which utilizes s homotopy transform to generate a convergent series solution for differential equations. This method provides a simple and improved approximate solution based on the zeroth iteration. Furthermore, the study highlights the influence of various parameters on the susceptible, exposed, infected, and recovered aspects of rumors.
