Distance based topological indices of five Benzenoid hydrocarbons
Abstract
This study examines the distance-based topological indices, specifically the Mostar and Szeged indices, for five benzenoid hydrocarbons: benzene, naphthalene, phenanthrene, anthracene, and pyrene. We calculate these indices and analyze their correlation with physical properties, namely the standard enthalpy of formation and boiling points. The findings reveal which index serves as a more reliable predictor for the physical characteristics of these compounds.
