Abstract

 The main objective of this paper is the study of the maximum number of limit cycles of discontinuous piecewise differential systems formed by an arbitrary linear system and a linear system without equilibrium points separated by a non-regular straight line. We show that these discontinuous piecewise linear differential systems can have at most two limit cycles, and this upper bound is
 reached.
