Abstract

This article discusses the mathematical model of the two-compartment biocatalytic system. The two layers of the mathematical modelling of biosensor are an enzyme layer and a membrane layer. The non-linear system equations are solved using the New Homotopy perturbation technique for obtaining an approximate analytical expression. A comparison is made between these approximate analytical equations and numerical simulations by utilizing MATLAB. We observe a satisfactory level of agreement between the numerical simulation results and our approximate analytical answers. Also, an approximate analytical expression for the biosensor’s current density is provided. A graphic representation of current density is also provided. Also evaluated are the effects of non-dimensional characteristics on the two-compartment biocatalytic system’s reaction.
