Solution of convection diffusion equation via a collocation method based on modified cubic trigonometric B-splines
Abstract
A collocation method based on modified cubic trigonometric B-spline (MCTB) basis functions is presented for convection-diffusion equation (CDE). The CTB basis functions are modified and used as test functions in the collocation technique which yields a system of linear equations. To express the accuracy as well as efficiency of the method, four examples are taken. The obtained results are compared with exact and numerical solutions. The extremely small error norms are evident for accuracy of the method. Furthermore, the present method may be a reasonable and efficient to estimate the higher order PDEs.
