An improvement in estimating the population mean by using quartiles and correlation coefficient

Abstract

The current study examines a few modified ratio estimators based on ratio-cum-medians for predicting the finite population mean using linear combinations of known auxiliary variable parameters, including correlation coefficient and quartiles. Both algebraically and numerically, the suggested estimators' efficiency is evaluated against the sample mean and ratio estimator of simple random sampling without replacement (SRSWOR). The suggested estimators outperform both the ratio estimator and the SRSWOR sample mean, according to the numerical comparison.
