Abstract

An analytical investigation is conducted in this work to resolve the heat transfer through porous fins containing a rectangular cross-section. The new analytical method called ASM is used to compute the explicit approximate analytical solution for the temperature gradient after determining the heat transfer equation. The results are then compared with the numerical method which demonstrates a significant agreement. The results obtained are interlined graphically. Also the fin efficiency and the influence of various parameters such as convection, porosity, radiation and conduction radiation are examined.
