Proactive attendance management system (PAMS) using proximity analysis and bluetooth low energy technology

Abstract

niversities and colleges are employing tremendous efforts and resources to utilize viable solutions to maintain students' activities including attendance. Still, the lack of attendance in lectures might result in unpredictable consequences toward students performance in the long run.This paper attempts to solve the drawbacks in the attendance monitoring system by developing a smart infrastructure using a cloud-based BLE technology. Our proposed system provides an effacement way to overcome the students location service correctness limitation. It also supports school administrators with all necessary measurement tools that statistically record and quantify the attendance students’ activities for the use in prospect management decisions.
