An efficient fuzzy minimum demand supply approach to solve fully fuzzy transportation problem

Abstract

This study introduces an efficient new approach to find optimal solution of a striking fuzzy transportation problems in which not only the transportation costs are vague but also there is ambiguity about the supply and demand of the products, termed as fully fuzzy transportation problem. This article proposes a unique fuzzy minimum demand supply method to get initial basic fuzzy solution in triangular fuzzy number form of a triangular fully fuzzy transportation problem. Angular bisection based fuzzy ranking technique is applied on initial fuzzy basic feasible solution to convert it in crisp values.The solutions obtained are compared with fuzzy hungarian modified distribution method. The method introduced in this study, satisfies the condition of optimality, feasibility and positive allocation under point to point subtraction scheme on fuzzy numbers.
