Assignment model in fuzzy environment

Abstract

Assignment problem is applied to solve real world problems arises in Engineering and management science. In real world problem we may not have the data or information in crisp sense. In this paper, trapezoidal fuzzy number is used as the cost for assigning ith person to jth job, which is more realistic and practical in nature. The trapezoidal fuzzy number is defuzzified by using linear ranking function proposed by Maleki.
