Synthesis of finite time controller with application to chaos synchronization

In this paper, a new method for finite time stabilization of a class of uncertain nonlinear systems, based on backstepping technique is proposed. At first part, finite time backstepping control strategy for a large class of nonlinear systems with unknown terms is introduced, it is shown that it can be used for some important cases such as strict feedback form systems. In the second part, based on the proposed finite time stabilization method, synchronization of chaotic systems is considered and then it is used for synchronization of two classes of chaotic systems. Simulation result shows the effectiveness of the proposed method in control and synchronization problems.
