Abstract

In this paper, we study the dynamics of phytoplankton-zooplankton model with viral infection in both the species. The positivity of solutions andits boundedness are studied, which shows that the proposed model is biologically well behaved. The standard theory of ODEs is used to study the stability behavior of the system. It
is shown that the infection rates of phytoplankton and zooplankton species, and the recovery rate of the infected phytoplankton species play a crucial role in governing the dynamics of the system. It is observed that the viral infection in phytoplankton species causes plankton oscillations at low level of viral infection in zooplankton species. The oscillations induced by viral infection in phytoplankton species can be stabilized by the
enhancement of recovery rate.
