Slow Convergence of Maps

Abstract

We study the phenomenon of critical slowing down for families of one dimensional maps. This phenomenon consists in the slowly convergence of orbits near points where a convergence criteria breaks down. We show the appearance of a sequence of universal critical exponents and give the conditions for their existence.
