Semi analytical solution to an SIR model using new approach to Homotopy perturbation method

Abstract

A previously developed SIR model with three mutually exclusive compartments is solved using New approach to Homotopy perturbation method.  The mathematical model is discussed for a situation without demography and a situation with demography separately. The numerical simulation of the problem is also presented. Comparison between the numerical simulation and the analytical solution gives a satisfactory agreement. The effect of various parameters on the susceptible, infected and recovered population is also discussed.
