Abstract

This paper discusses a Liénard-type oscillator that presents a stable limit-cycle. The system uses a special function of the states $\sigma(x,\dot{x})$ that acts as a nonlinear dumping factor leading the system to oscillate. This function is used as a sliding-mode surface of the sliding-mode control, which has better robustness to perturbations and fast transient response. Stability is analyzed by Lyapunov functions. Then, the system concept is applied to a DC-AC power converter, where is possible to verify its effectiveness on generating a sinusoidal output voltage.
