Performance evaluation of a wireless sensor actuator network under reliability approach

Abstract

In this work, the performance of a wireless sensor-actuator network has been discussed. Wireless sensor-actuator networks are amongst one of the most important technologies of twenty-first century. Further enabled by technology, WSAN’s provide tremendous applications in industrial, domestic, health-care, military sectors and Cyber Physical Systems are being designed and implemented over these wireless sensor-actuator networks. Considering the growing interest, it is necessary to be able to analyze the reliability of these networks. In these networks failure in any component or subsystem affects the performance of the network. In this research work, the authors have designed a mathematical model for a wireless sensor actuator network using Markov Process to obtain the reliability of the proposed system.
