Abstract

Preface: This special issue “Mathematical Techniques applied in Engineering and Healthcare†of the journal Mathematics in Engineering, Science and Aerospace (MESA) is primarily devoted to papers presented during 3rd International Conference on Mathematical Techniques in Engineering Application (ICMTEA 2018), which was successfully held at the Graphic Era University, Dehradun, India during December 7-8, 2018. The topics presented in this issue are related to the applications of mathematics in various fields such as operational research, pure math, mechanical engineering, healthcare, engineering etc. In this special issue, distinct and yet connected topics of how mathematics has been helping in various decision makings have been presented. The collection talks about certain mathematical programming approached utilized to evaluate economic order quantity with signed distance technique, the use of fuzzy programming to discuss and its role as a solution approach to the various transportation related decisions have been discussed. Fractional programming approach-based relations have been discussed wherein some explicit type of functions have been utilized for multi-objective formulation. A time delay-based innovation adoption is the catch of the theme that talks about the usage of applied mathematical technique for sales related modeling.
