Similarity solutions of a steady MHD flow over a semi-infinite surface

Abstract

In this paper we consider the problem of a steady MHD boundary-layer flow over a semi-infinite stretching surface with a power-law velocity. Under the influence of a nonuniform applied magnetic field. The governing equations, which are partial differential equations, are solved in similarity form. A modified version of the Kudryashov method   is employed to construct some new exact closed-form solutions.The strength of the applied magnetic field is a power function of the length of the plate $(B(x)=B_{0}x^{\frac{m-1}{2}},\, B_{0}>0)$. Graphical representations for the obtained solutions are presented and discussed.
